Bill Wright from Herne Hill Youth CC is the organiser at Round 3 – he gives us his take on this always popular London venue;
We’re looking forward to another tight and twisty circuit at Herne Hill Velodrome. The circuit is currently being finalised so we’ll post this as soon as it’s ready. The Herne Hill Youth CC team has been busy widening the trails to make more overtaking room and cutting lots of “inny” and “outy” bits to highlight this compact, fast and exciting venue.
The U8/U10/U12 circuit will feature a lot more of the off-road trails and a lot less of the grass infield, making for a lot more variety and more technical features too.
For everyone else, no HH circuit would be complete without Big Bob, Little Bob and the Camel. More details when the course is finalised.
Lots of food and refreshments will be available onsite, provided by HHYCC catering squad, Jan’s Café and Cliff & Carol’s jerk chicken and curry (including veg and vegan options), plus Canopy beer and top quality Volcano coffee.
PLEASE NOTE it’s going to be a very busy day at the velodrome as we are expecting more cars than we have parking spaces. For those who aren’t able to park in the Velodrome, please park courteously in the surrounding streets. Please be careful about not blocking driveways and please note that space for your rollers and changing facilities are available in the Velodrome.
We advise that if you live locally or are able to arrive under your own steam, that will be to your advantage and also much appreciated. Herne Hill and North Dulwich stations are both within about half a mile of the Velodrome.
The entrance to the Velodrome is at 104 Burbage Road, SE24 9HE. Entry is here https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/249533/Challenge-Tires-London-and-South-East-CX-League—Round-03
