2021/’22 Round 1 Preview – Ardingly

The venue for the Challenge Tires London and SE Cyclocross League at Ardingly is based on the Crawley Wheelers practice course at the South-of-England show ground.

Dougie Fox and his team have made some adjustments to the banked areas and have cut some new paths on the banks. Last Saturday was spent with a sit on mower cutting the grass for both the adult course and the U12’s course. There are plenty of cornering and overtaking opportunities along with some fast straight sections. With the recent dry weather we have had the course should be fast, however, with the small chance of some rain at the weekend some cornering may be more technical than expected.

We have a good tarmac start and finish straight that will see riders making the most of their summer training efforts.

Entrance to the venue is via the South Gate with ample parking past the course on the grassy field to the left.  There are shower facilities available in the Red block toilets close to the start finish straight. Dogs on leads are welcome (as usual please have yer poo bag handy)!

Here’s the U8/10/12s Course and the Youth/Jun/Sen/Vet Course;

We’re all looking forward to welcoming you on Sunday. Sign up is here and is open until Thursday the 16th at 6PM – https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/248563/Challenge-Tires-London-and-South-East-CX-League—Round-01
